Londoners are very lucky to have an active pirate radio community. Radio where I live sounds so lifeless in comparison.

Yeah, I think my download died too. I only managed to get about an hour's worth.

What's that tune about 45 minutes in, w/ the "psycho killer" sample (yes, I know where it's from  ). That tune is fucking deep!

Dubstep is just too small to be a beat factory like house music or even drum'n'bass. Hype has to play a critical factor if the sound is going to spread. And that is why dubplate culture exists....to generate hype. In an ideal world, a music's popularity would spread on it's merits alone, but as they...

Dubplate culture has always been a complicated issue, even for drum n bass, because it's inherently elitist and could be seen as alienating potential consumers of the sound. However it does impose a very high level of quality control on the music and gives it a definite mystique. When that 2 year o...

I'm nowhere near the wordsmith Martin is, so I just did some formatting, and marked off a few links I think could be expanded.

I don't have anything against Cameo...I actually wanted to catch him while he was up in NYC a while back....

I just wish that during his show he would actually let a tune play without reloading it 40 times. It honestly makes me want to stop listening sometimes.

Got into electronic music in the late '90's => Started spinning drum'n'bass around 2000 => Got into 2-step UK Garage around the same time => Caught Hatcha, JDa, and Darqwan at a local outdoor party...totally changed my perspective on the darker side of garage => Joined 2-charming crew along w/ Joe N...

The prefix "intelligent" is always a bit of a slipperly slope though, IMO. Like when the term "intelligent drum'n'bass" was used to describe '94-'96 Bukem'ish type of drum'n'bass...I don't see what made those tunes any more "intelligent" then a say, a Source Direct tune...

Hahaha, someone should post that Dubstep definition up on Wikipedia, so that it will stop redirecting to Grime with just some pithy aside about it being "instrumental" grime.

Well, since it's Wikipedia, I guess technically *I* could start doing that.
