Re: Out of Curiosity
i once made a tune drunk and somehow managed to turn off "snap to grid/beat" in the clip arranger and couldn't figure out how to turn it on. spent like 3 hours making a track where every element was wildy out of time.
never again.

Re: Anyone using Serato DJ yet?
It depended on what hardware you had,
So I used Scratch Live, as I have a SL2 box.
But if you had a controller or something I was something different (cant remembe what)
The Serato DJ's whole "thing" is to unite all the hardwares to one software.

Re: The search to a more suitable name for the 130 movement
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOhNXT-OkGw thats the tune im on about by beneath. admittedly the flip i wouldnt call techno (texers) but that track (imho) is techno as fuk. dont forget some purist minimal techno is just drum hits and no synth or anything, so that track having a few extra snares off...

Re: The search to a more suitable name for the 130 movement
so you liked a tune, were told it wasn't what you thought it was and instantly distanced yourself from such music altogether because you couldn't understand why it wasn't what you thought it was? or you just... cared too much about what genre it was instead of how much you liked it? edit; also man ...

New Mix from myself - acid jams, techno jams, older jams...
Really feeling all these tunes right now. Possibly the most "happy" thing I've recorded in a while - that is to say it's not brutal relentless techno for an hour straight. A few different styles but certified dancefloor music. Also 3 new tracks of my own in there. Enjoy x https://soundclou...

Re: The search to a more suitable name for the 130 movement
to be fair i noped out a while ago. I found a Beneath track that was really good, and played it as part of my techno set. I first found Beneath through the 130 ting, but when I posted the track I was promptly told it wasn't techno, or infact 130. I was told it "was more UK Funky tbh". i co...

Anyone using Serato DJ yet?
Anyone using the new software yet? Think full support is out now. Bit reluctant to upgrade, a massive fan of "if it works don't fix it" when it comes to critical software/hardware. (which consequently saved me a ton of headache by waiting for everyone else to upgrade to Mavericks first to ...

Re: Feedback Thread
not my ting but some good production skills. only concern would be the kick. it seems to have only a few lower frequencies than your snare! in fact, sometimes it even sounds the same. bring some low end into that my man. kicks should thump or boom. not sound like a muted snare!

Re: DJ Pay and Set Times
yeah for sure. I don't see that as really a bad thing tho - so many people DJ but still not many are making decent tracks. DJing is actually really fucking simple to pick up a moderate level of skill - enough to do a passable set in a club. however making a decent tune takes a lot more time investme...

Re: DJ Pay and Set Times
The only real question I have is how long should I ask each DJ to play for? How long is a piece of string? 23 inches. Bum - you are going about this all wrong. Nowadays it is pay to play for dj's. Let the djays pay you 50$ to do an hour. 5 dj's equals: 250$ revenue stream right there. :6: fukken i ...

Re: DJ Pay and Set Times
when we were putting on nights the only time we made money was the dimensions launch party. and I think we were like £100 up max - which was then split between two promoters. every other night was a loss - you do it for the laughs/memories/music. £50 aint gonna buy you much. i think our cheapest DJ ...
