'Blood and Oil' by Michael Klare. It's not a ranting, left-wing, anticorporate polemic but it just quietly and indisputably illustrates the ideology behind the American involvement in the Middle East. It's kind of the opposite of the thing that Michael Moore does, it's a cold objective analysis, and...

Surely a contender for an Ivor Novello award ... if not for the songwriting, for the choreography.

I didn't vote because I don't see that I should have. I think is great that this project is going ahead, but I'm not really involved with it in any way so I reckoned I don't have the right to give you guys my opinion on your logo.

Anyone use the MAM ADX-1 drum synth

I've just nabbed one off ebay, not too impressed so far. Any other owners out there?

There should be a law against doing this to a synth ...

... it's cruel, it's immoral, it's just plain WRONG. Judge for yourself.

Totally agree. The manager bird just kept waffling on about some e-mail that Lethal B has sent to David Cameron. Big deal, she had the perfect opportunity to flatten this argument but she was a bit like a 'rabbit in the headlights'.

I think there is a limit to just how 'urban' you can get if you went to school at Eton.

Glad to see the back off WB. I agree with TRIAC: discrimination or offensive posts on any grounds should be dealt with. I'm sure we are all aware of the often overt homophobia within the reggae/dancehall scene. I am not gay myself but I would feel very uneasy if homophobic sentiments were tolerated ...

Its not 'nogger', its 'nagger' I think (as in 'a woman who nags') but the post still relies on an entirely negative racial stereotype. Whitebait's joke would go down well at a BNP meeting and has NO place on this forum.

I would say it goes further back than even house music. David Mancuso famously dropped weird sound effects (birdsong, thunderstorms, aircraft takeoff) into his sets at the Loft in the late 60s. I read that in a book called "Love Saves the Day" by Tim Laurence, good read but kinda academic.

I had one years ago, I always liked it, pretty easy to use and good filters but I wouldn't pay more than £50 for one these days. Hardware samplers seem very cheap at the moment, even the Akai S5 and 6s are going for between £200 and £300. If you're getting it for a good price is worth having as long...
