Everybody already knows that's Obama voicing a book on tape, reading the lines of somene who he grew up with, so no one would be able to exploit it for its shock value. The christian Bale rant on the other hand was spontaneous and straight from his ignorant and sleep deprived little heart, on the sp...

Depends on what the intro's purpose is in the track. If its supposed to introduce sounds and melodies before the bass drops, then longer intros are understandable. If it is just a leader for the DJ to be able to grab the beat before all wobbly hell breaks loose, then shorter intros are in like flyn....

When reading this thread, the whole Jungle vs DnB vs tech, dark, clownstep circus rave breakbeats distinction comes to mind. There are people who would interrupt a conversation they had nothing to do with just to let you know that a certain song you mentioned was not techy, it was darkstep, and woe ...

2x16=32 I have offered the FL staff this little tidbit as a product suggestion, but they dont seem to want to ride that train. I make 2 different patterns if I want to cover an area that is twice as long as the project setting, then have to set all automations to "initialize at this position&qu...

One goal in mastering is being able to present an album to someone who will put it into their player and only have to make adjustments to the EQ and volume once, and all your tracks / dubs sound good at those settings. In order to do this, you would need to A/B your stuff as you master in order to b...

Q23. You just reminded me of a defining moment in D&B's history (for me and the peeps that were there anyway) Tasco Warrehouse, Plumstead, S.E. London. i forget the name of the dance, but Bukem steps up after one of the heavy sets and this track stars playing. The intro goes on and on and on, a...

Back in the early rave days we had parties with Sasha playing alongside Grooverider alongside Beltram alongside the Ragga Twins - it was all the better for it. I remember when there was techno, and there was hip hop. And you still had to know how to mix the two. You had to be able to mix "push...

at the end of the the day every daw is just a host for your vsts and your imagination. That is probably the best choice of words I have heard this explanation put into. I am going to say this next time someone comes up to me at the live show and wants to get into a nice long boring conversation abo...

Alot of older DnB tunes had wobble as well, they just didn't go as deep into the sub bass with the wobble and kept it into the mid range. It was more subtle. If it sells, people are going to make it, en masse. Pick any genre of music that has been around longer than five years and something similar ...

I think you should let other people refer to your songs as "BIG TUNES" let the music speak for it's self.. I think it's a bit narcissistic to refer to your own songs as "BIG TUNES" on a public forum.... no offense.... It is for this very reason why my friends and I handed eachot...

You do not need to contact the creator of the original work you are sampling in order to clear samples. The agency set up to take care of this is called Harry Fox http://www.harryfox.com/index.jsp You contact these guys, they negotiate the royalty fee according to how much of your work is reliant to...

I think the best way to put it into words is this.... If I got up there as a third generation DJ and mixed the same way Jeff Mills does, everyone would leave the dancefloor. He can do it because he is a first generation DJ, and because he is Jeff Mills, period. He can also charge a large lump sum pe...

Cannot make them cease and decist. By law you can produce a derivitive work as long as the original author gets a cut, which is usually negotiated previous to the track's release ->Unless of course you make underground electronic music :P If money is made on it, Metallica can: A) Sue for a percentag...
