Re: How to Seperate Vocals to make a remix of a song.

Save your time and energy man.. like poster above i to have done the inverted instrumental thing and it will just not work. There is no easy way to split vocals out, unless you know someone who works at the studio that tracked the original song and they feel like getting you a master of the vocal tr...

Re: Using Kaoss kP3 with Ableton

You can buy cables on ebay or local music shops that would allow you to patch the kp3 in to your setup multiple different ways. You will need a stereo feed to KP3 and then a stereo return from the KP3 that you will record to "capture" the sounds being processed by KP3 back into your DAW. I...

Re: When to buy a new macbook?

So i would wait until the back to school deal to buy your next macbook, that way you can get a free ipod touch (which could qualify and be used as audio produciton hardware if you get the right app). I bought my 2010 macbook pro unibody jan 2010 and missed out on the free ipod touch.. not a big deal...

Re: Panning

I once had a veteran audio tech tell me that every noise/instrument has a proper place in the stereo image. He used to record and mix live bands more then electronic music, but the mantra is still applicable to dubstep, atleast i use panning to create my stereo image and help give depth to my tracks...

Re: would you put this on the master?

Are you mixing down? Composing still? or Mastering? Composition - I put a limiter on (set at 0 gain and .03 limit) just to make sure i dont peak and destroy my monitors. MIxdown - Master channel stays clean with no effects added, usually same session as composition i just turn the limiter off entire...

Re: Ableton/Studio/DJ Products I Offer

Glad to see you on dsf man. I already have picked up your production workshop stuff and the dj effects and templates. I dont use the templates, but have instead created my own frankentemplates: a dj template and a live jam template that rely heavily on the multi fx racks and 1 knob filter fx. Much r...

Re: Tips and tricks on throwing smaller dubstep shows/raves?

Do you have a local VFW or some smaller "fraternity" bar that doesnt really have to much money coming besides the regular bar flys? I hooked up with my local VFW and through an event with EOTO in my small hick SD town. The event was off the chain! We sold the bar out almost completley and ...
