so your saying youngsta doesnt have any more dubplates just because hes using cdj?i would say a dubplate is a track that gets played out,but the producer has no intention to release it in the foreseeable future

everyone knows this

the reason people arent cutting is because of the lack of working decks in clubs/the lack of funds available due to huge price increases to cut dubs, im a vinyl man but have never cut a dub

dubplate culture is all about exclusivity, the excitement of getting a huge tune from an unknown, hearing a set from someone known for having certain tunes

i play out 24bit wavs of my own tunes personally and in the future with memory stick inputs people will be able to play massive files that are identical to the resolution of what can fit on vinyl/acetate...so the issue of sound quality will go away as well as sad as it is

the only issue here is the format itself...the only people i know that have cut dubs recently are fanatics with their own tunes....having it on acetate doesnt make it a better tune by default

yes we all love vinyl and its far more pleasant to spin and i have a whole room full of vinyl here but as far as unreleased music is concerned its just not something the vast majority of people see the point in doing or can afford

mala said recently on his facebook 'its getting harder and harder to play dubplates'

dubplate culture hasnt died...this is dubplate culture but just via a different medium....all else is the same..calling it dub is short for dubplate so kinda the same thing

Oh i definately agree with you mate, dont think a lot of people understand what a dubplate actually is. Anyway i dont suppose it really matters does it.
