Yo. As some of you know, I (Jate/jayladders) and a few of my friends and contacts have set up Big Iron Collective. We are a group of artists and DJs that provide tracks, podcasts and mixes.
Quite a few members of this forum have shown interest in the collective, either submitting tunes to be played out on livestreams and mixes, entering our competition or signing up to join us and become a member. We currently have a range of DJs that specialise in such genres as Dubstep, Jungle, Deep House, Grime and Garage. Myself and Cheebs mix 100% vinyl, whereas the others use a mix of vinyl and digital formats in their mixes. This way we are open to being as broad as possible in our sound range. Members of the forum that definitely deserve a mention for contributions are such people as Electric_Head, Cryptical, Lye_Form, smokeybeenz, Reverb and more.
We are currently looking for DJs of bass music, in general, to submit mixes to be featured on 'The Chamber Files', a collection of mixes weekly released through Mixcloud. If you have a mix you're proud of and want to get it a bit of attention, send it over to us and we may host it for you under The Chamber Files.
We are also looking for producers. We have a healthy amount of decent producers right now, but more is always good, and our guys are looking for artists to collaborate and remix. If you are confident in your production, then feel free to get in touch and talk to some of our members.
As it stands, we are a money-free organisation. My intention was to create some form of group that promotes itself through its own artists' input, and gives exposure to good music that would otherwise be overlooked in the sea of bullshit that is currently spread across the globe. However, after long talks in the boardroom with the management, we've decided that we will be releasing a 'Big Iron Allstars' collection of the best music that our guys have come up with, as a digital LP. It is likely that there will be more releases as time goes along, if the collective continues at the rate it currently is.
If any of this interests you in any way, be it from a producer's angle, a DJ's angle or simply a fan/listener's angle, get in touch. Communication is a vital part of the collective.
