What is "PROPER" Dubstep?

I admit Vol 1 pays homage to the more modern Dupstep which seems to be big in North America, but I'm trying to get all of the Anthems. Which are the BIG tracks that I'm missing?
I did include Big British tunes: Benga's Crunked Up & Skream's Midnight Request Line which I believe are good Dubstep Classics already. And Doctor P's Sweet Shop & DJ Fresh's Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix).

Freestylers feat. Belle Humble - Cracks (Flux Pavilion Remix)
DJ Fresh - Gold Dust (Flux Pavilion Remix)
Noisia - Alpha Centauri (Remix)
Rusko - Woo-Boost
Ellie Goulding - Lights (Dream Mix)
Kid Sister - Pro Nails (Rusko Remix)
Barletta - Panther (Zeds Dead Remix)
Blue Foundation - Eyes On Fire (Zeds Dead Remix)
Sub Focus - Splash (Rusko Remix) [feat. Coco]
Katy B - Katy On a Mission
Hulk - Run Train
Flux Pavilion - Got 2 Know
Bassnectar - Cozza Frenzy feat. Seasunz
Doctor P - Sweet Shop
Flux Pavilion - Voscillate (Roksonix Remix)
Benga - Crunked Up
Skream - Midnight Request Line

SO what other songs make up the HISTORY of Dubstep?

StevieBoy?

Without a reply I can only assume that it's YOU that doesn't know what proper Dubstep is.. Sure it (was somewhat) spawned from UKG, though I don't think that makes you a pro.

Ah so you're just anti new sound.. that makes sense now. I used to be like you all protective of my genre of music, a little elitest even. Then I grew up and learned that open mindedness and (the need for) progression is the best thing a music lover can have. No offence, but I bet you're still young. Sorry to break it to you but Gold Dust is Dubstep.. and Dubstep will continue to grow and assimilate other sounds and genres, it's inevitable. Rusko who I can only imagine you consider to not be dubstep either because he's new describes dubstep as a big melting pot of all of the genres mixed together.. which IS even true for the "original" dubstep (just a melting pot of Jungle, UKG and Old school techno).

So you can have your opinion though you still didn't answer the original question then.. who is "the original sound"?
Isn't Benga - Crunked Up & Skream - Midnight Request Line more the original sound? Or more Burial stuff? And if so what specific tunes?

Thanks
Nick

im 24 mate, if you think thats young ill take that as a compliment cuz im feelin old. well yea the skream n benga tracks are big. just this sec got back from watchin silkie, quest and kromestar. artists like these i like my friend. but i dont wanna start naming tracks cuz ill be here all day, i dont know you, i dont care if you think i have no clue what im on about but my point is simple, the point of dubstep is that its dark music, the new stuff is the exact opposite which in my opinion defeats the point as a genre as a whole. im not trying to be a tnuc here by the way so dunna take this personally

Yes 24 is still young. Wait till your 40 to start feeling old.
I broke out of my little music shell around 24. I'm 32 and have never liked as many international genres of music, there's brilliance everywhere, you just gotta know how to look for it.

I never saw the rules of dubstep anywhere? Didn't know it always had to be dark. My bad.

I do have to point out that the NEW stuff can be dark too, like Zeds Dead (who represent my home town), is Definitely Bad ass dubstep:
http://soundcloud.com/zedsdead/blue-fou ... dead-remix
(that's their big hit if you want to listen to it, they do have darker stuff too)

lol mate you talkin to me like i dont know what im on about, i do, its just i dont really care if you think i do or not, know where to look for tunes and no im not just tied down to dubstep, i too love multi genres of music, however, trust me you wont be getting me into the harder stuff, i used to like it, i dont anymore, its irritating. that really is full stop mate unfortunatly

I'm just saying because you claim that someone like Zeds Dead or Flux Pavillion (Gold Dust) is NOT Dubstep.. then what is it?

I understand that the origins of Dubstep are dark, but I refuse to make that a rule. Or at least I wont say that is the only true dubstep.

Just like originally I loved hip hop and thought the Beastie Boys were not rapping, and were in fact more rock, only to in the end learn that they are pretty bad ass, and just cause they weren't your typical rapper didn't mean they weren't. (The Beasties were just pushing the envelope as are Flux Paviliion and Zeds Dead, it just happens that Benga and Skream would be more so the equivalent of Blo-fly or Grandmaster Flash.

You people need to stop saying that it 'will' evolve when it's obvious it HAS evolved, for better or worse.

The new Swamp81 thing, real clubby, real dancey. Before he stepped on the decks I wasn't really a fan of that but wow, went 'arrrrrd !!! Shows that dubstep can evolve in the good direction
