Two Faced Podcast Chapter 002: March Of The Slugs

Welcome to the second instllment in the Two Faced Podcast series. For Pt. 2 we present a look into one of the most interesting and forward thinking labels to have sprung onto the scene in recent times. We're talking of course about Bok Bok's Night Slugs!!

Overflowing with new talent, this diamond in the rough has been turning heads across an array of genres for just over a year. Since its inception in January 2010, NS has developed a strong and devoted following with releases by the likes of Egyptrixx, Mosca, Girl Unit, Pearson Sound aka Ramadanman. (If you've no clue about any of the artists mentioned...you are obligated to download the mix below!!)

While it is virtually impossible to pin down the Night Slugs sound, the defining characteristics are heavy manipulation of synths, vocal samples and an undeniable low end that destroy's every decent system their tunes are played through.

Mixing duties for this leg have been assigned to the man Beetee. Introduced to the sound of dubstep in April 2008 when he attended VOID...headlined by SCUBA. After becomming a convert to the sound, he began purchasing records in dribs and drabs, but it has been in the past 18 months that the vinyl addiction has taken a serious hold!!

Initially a sceptic when he was introduced to the 808 driven sound which features so heavily in the NS catalogue, he ate his words when he heard the release of “That Mystic EP” by Kingdom, spacifically the track "Bust Broke". The deceptively simple tune made him completely reassess his standing on this emerging sound and quickly became a convert and furiously began buying up all NS releases, incorporating them flawlessly into his repertoire.

The mix is draws heavily from the Night Slugs roster, displaying the immense diversity which the label has become known for. There are also a few choice cuts from other artists such as Instra:mental, Skinnz and Terror Danjah to get some fresh blood pumping. Without further ado Two Faced Podcasts presents:
