In addition to being the guitarist for the Doom Metal band Esoteric for the past 20 years, having recorded 6 albums and toured Europe countless times, Gordon Bicknell a.k.a. Lysergene, is also an established electronic music producer. He has dubstep releases out on Area Recordings (UK), [Sub Ritual (12") and Inner Workings (Digital)], as well as two Darkwave albums on Aesthetic Death Records.
Exploring the multiplicity and experimentation that dubstep producers are afforded, while also utilizing its basic formula as a means to stimulate the process, his style of production tends to focus on the deepest end of the bass music spectrum, known to some as the 'dungeon' sound. He primarily tends to utilize minor, locrian, phrygian and diminished scales for musical elements, resulting in dark and brooding sonic explorations.
