ccleaner and defraggler
audio optimizations which an easy google will list the majors
use tiny xp install to keep bs off comp not necessary and unnecessary background applications

How to Increase Computer Performance:

1.Left click on your Start Menu
2.Right click on My Computer
3.Left click on "Properties" in the drop down menu
4.Left click on the "Advanced" tab
5.Under Performance left click on the "Settings" button
6.To maximize computer performance, left click on "Adjust for best performance"
7.If you would rather choose what is on or off, uncheck the items you wish to disable
8.When you are done, left click on "Apply"
9.Left click on "Ok"

Haha! Sorry I actually laughed there...

Erm...something productive to add....er....don't smoke around your computer! Or if you do, clean out your keyboard and mouse regularly and open up the tower (if you have one) and clean inside cos it gets bare filthy with ash.
