I have these and couldnt recommend them enough, especially for the money. They're bi-amplified, having seperate in-built amps for the sub and tweeter.

I've been told the behringers have unbalanced bass and aren't that good for production.

Behringers are HR824 knockofs.Mr Hyde wrote:Just blown one of my Eltax speakers and guess it will cost more to fix than get new ones so any recommendations? I guess up to about £200, something that can handle sub and has generally good sound quality.

I hear fantastic things about adams.oceanzen wrote:I'm using Event tr8s which are very good but I'm gettng a sub woofer soon, you might want to think bout adding a dedcated sub in the future
The general rule with monitors is that you get what you pay for.
IMO it's better to spend the money you've got on smaller drivers with higher quality/flatter response, and then add a sub in later to cover the lows.
Or buy one really good 8" driver and then another to match later if you're strapped.

Yeh I've got me some of these. Thought the bass end was OK all though could be cos my room has some funky acoustics ( or i'm over compensating ). Couldn't believe the high end on them when I first got them, reckon I must have got used to it now because I don't notice it so much...oceanzen wrote:I'm using Event tr8s which are very good but I'm gettng a sub woofer soon, you might want to think bout adding a dedcated sub in the future
Definitely spend as much you can spare on monitors though. You get what you pay for.
dpending on which model you have, which component has blown and where your based, you might be pleasantly surprised...
