FWIW, I tend to use Samplitude, Renoise, REAPER, and occasionally FL Studio.
Zebra and Fabfilter Twin as main synths, and Shortcircuit for sampling.

Reason rewired to Logic with a micro Korg in there for fun Yup yup Logic is super duper. It's a litle tuffer to get reason sounding nice and fat but you can do it if you layer everything up and be careful with your FQ blending. I love the reason interface. It seems it would be really good for someone just getting into it because you build everything visually in a rack and you can flip the rack over and wire everything just how you want it... lots of fun to experiment with + the sequencer is so easy.

Oh.. and I also use Sonar + Creamware Scope. But that's more for my straightahead breakbeat stuff.
