RANKING JOE's first official Dubstep vocal ever !!

Post by don goliath » Sat Sep 01, 2007 4:19 pm

i did it again ;)

i m proud to announce that after my first pioneer act by voicing a big name JA artist (namely Turbulence) on a Dubstep beat i just voiced the Jamaican DJ legend Ranking "Bangdiddeldibang" Joe (Studio One etc.).

i find Joe hit the beat very well and he also is in my opinion the veteran DJ who is still best in shape (concerning vocal skillz). it was a big phun to work with his vocal and once again i wanna encourage other Dubstep producers to follow the trend of voicing big name JA artists on Dubstep in order to bring more positive lyrics to the clubs as well as reminiscing where Dub is coming from, same little great island these artists are. :)

ok i reckon i worshipped myself enough now ;) and leave u to listen to the tune on my myspace www.myspace.com/dongoliath so u can check if u like it as much as i do.

feedback is much appreciated as usual.

I think that the vocals it do not really fit to the riddim.
it sound like a mash up to me, missing the dublike handling of the vocal track. maybe take some words out for reaching more deepness.

kind regards, desmond.

no way, unlike the majority of producers out there i m a big auto tune fan regardless it prolly is the most over used vocal effect in dance music ever. anyway, a matter of taste hence no need to focus on this one.

this mix of the tune was intended to be a full vocal dubstep tune, not a dub still. i ll consider going for a dub cut to the vocal cut and then only using snippets of the vocal.

excellent tune, mate! probably the first dubstep tune of yours i really like 101%. one can argue about autotune of course, especially on the deejay vocals i don't really see the purpose of tuning at all, but here it fits quite well. hope to see this goodie on vinyl!
