Packing Sh!t Up - 2 hour mix for the download

Post by laurent » Thu Nov 09, 2006 10:11 pm

easy,

Im off to learn to become an english teacher tomorrow so before i go here's a mix i recently finished...

The idea was to put loads of stuff down from my vinyl collection which i couldnt access once it was put into storage (which i did last week) and then it kept growing and i added some bits i have on digital format and kept adding tracks from vinyl too...
mostly recent stuff (a year old or less) as well as older bits...
Everytime i kept listening to it while packing i went back to add more stuff - little edits, spoken word etc...
I just wanted to be able to listen to tracks i really liked without making more than one mix and kinda went from there...
Most of the mix was done on decks, the rest in Ableton, then the whole thing was finished, edited and tweaked in Ableton.

The mix is 2h10mins, file is pretty big but it's a 256k mp3 so quality is good and the whole thing has been optimised in Soundforge. Big speakers/loud system recommended but it works well in headphones too.

It goes from chilled to upbeat to chilled again. Dub, electronica, glitch, hip hop, dubstep, grime and other bits and bobs.

Two versions now available - one full version and one with the mix split into two parts for easier burning to CD etc...

Tracklist + link below.

Enjoy :)

Total time: 2h10mins
File Size: 234mb
