Cue files for mixes

Post by unempty » Sun Jun 10, 2007 9:19 am

I hacked up a little app :A: today to make making .cue sheet files for mixes without too much effort, and thusly getting "bookmarks" to specific tracks in a long mix (and without splitting the original file), based on the track listing.

In foobar2000, this also means that individual tracks get indexed in the database, and searching for "what mix was that track on again?" or "what was the name of that track?" gets easy/plausible. Nice and orderly, methinks.

So, anyway, I figured if people find it useful - and the selectors approve, of course - I'll post some cue files for mixes as I find the time to create them.

Here's the first one I just did: A cue file for Enzyme's May 19 Futurebreaks mix (This is the mix itself ).

Just throw it next to the mp3 file and open the .cue file in foobar2000 instead of the mp3. All tracks should load into the playlist. :e: :W:

The playlist goes from this:

PS.
I dunno if iTunes can use cue files, but I'm sure someone else here knows how to get this rolling on a mac. On Linux (and yes, *BSD), Amarok does cue files nicely though.
