BF2.. Battlefield 2!?

I've got about 14 games (got a bit excited a couple months ago..) and COD4 is the only one I've played for more than 30 minutes since getting it in Jan. Hooked. All my games are toppa top though, got something to fall back on. Got Burnout on Saturday, not even got round to opening it!

Nearly grabbed a 40gb PS3 this month cos I missed it first time round (at 60gb with backwards compatability, card readers, etc), but guy in shop tried warning me off of it cos he's a 360 man...

I got pissed off at the lack of salesmanship and walked out. Got home later and found out they're releasing an 80gb version this summer with all extras on the 60gb, for the same price as the 40gb.

Holding on to money now until that comes out.

Burnout Paradise is fantastic though, played round at my mates, and although it's a massive step away from the style of the old Burnout's (i.e. this is open plan free roaming), it's just a brilliant game.

If they can do this with Burnout, I look forward to the new Need For Speed on the PS3!

The 80gb is out in American, has been for a while. I dont believe it's been confirmed for a UK release..?

The HD size shouldn't affect your decision, you can upgrade the HD to ANY laptop spec hard-drive should you want to. I'm happy with my 60gb because of the backwards compat more than anything, I still have a lot of PS2 games I need to start/finish! The 4 USB ports can be handy but aren't wholly necessary. Card readers are a very nice touch though for anyone who uses them.

Anyway, back to topic...

COD4! Going to bed, but if anyone's on a game I'll be on tomorrow..

No specific date, but mid-summer quoted by stores everywhere at moment.

The hd size has no impact on my decision, like yourself I'm after the backwards compat, with loads of PS2 games dotted around the house. Card readers and USB ports are a bonus.

This should only be a MUST for consumers if you've never owned a PS before.

You'll find your 60Gb wont play half your PS2 game collection properly. You obviously aint really tested it as you've made a point that your happy with that more than anything.. smh.

80GB PS3's are yet to be confirmed over here, although there are some decent game launch packages.. like the MGS4 one in the pipeline.. with a rumour of the 80GB PS3's using a different emotion engine to what the predecessor 60Gb has... Which would make for a good purchase..

Anyway.. we both own ps3's here.. no need for the subtle tenseness.. we're family.

ON ANOTHER NOTE.. FELIXGASH COULD U RENAME THIS TO PS3 TALK OR SOMETHING... I WAS MEANING TO MAKE A THREAD WHERE WE CAN ALL CONGREGATE/OPRGANISE GAMES ETC IN HERE N SHIT.

I'm yet to find a PS2 game of mine, out of about 50, that hasnt worked on my PS3.

As for the topic being "ps3 talk"... I just want to murk you all on Cod, it's kinda gone off topic!!

I didnt say they wouldn't work.

But keep playing them, you're bound to come across crashes.. glitches & other things that render the game unplayable. And i doubt ur the only one in the world who doesn't get ANY problems playing PS2 games.

I have close to 150 games on the PS2. i find the later released games will not function properly.. but my FF-X works pretty flawlessly.. except a few graphical glitches. God of War 2 though... don't even get me started.

But yeah cool.. whats ur PSN:ID ?

Oh noez, I just purchased GOW2.. please tell me it'll work! Not tried it yet..

PSN ID is 'skanzee'.. I think I'll change it soon, it's my old dj/mc name from when we were still mixing 138 Trek with a bit of TNT and Sticky.. needs to go! But it's my COD4 name and I defo wont be starting a new COD4 account! So add that for now

I'm on level 38. Feels like I've been playing for ages, but I've just passed the "1 day" mark.. don't get to spend as much time on it as I'd like what with uni taking up my day, and going out and gigs taking up my nights!

Some of my mates have played for like "8 days, 16 hours".. it's mad!

Hmm.. general setup.. tend to use my AK74u (though I'll probably use the P90 when I unlock it) with Bandolier, UAV Jammer and Martydom. At least that's one of my classes, I use Stopping Power and Deep Impact sometimes too, depending what kinda game it is.
