bad pressings

cant tell about record quality of this year in general. but i bought zomby - rumours and revelations and i have to say that, as much as i like the song, i hardly play it cause the record (or at least my copy) just sounds so bad. almost unlistenable. shame..

Costs are higher therefore quality lacks a bit.

master on Coki - road rage is horrendous... hate playing that song because i always have a completely different sounding tune in my head and when i put it on... its just flat out muddiness.

the side with the move d remix on it has some noises in the first 30 sec and than from time to time again about 10 sec. long... and the noises are very loud... but the shape of the record is perfect... sounds like the master (matrix) was bad!?!? but the b side plays fine!

I haven't had too many issues. But Peak... Do you have issues with the "Serious" tune on the El-B sampler? That's my No. 1 complaint. I opened the bloody record, spun "The Club", had maybe one little 'skkks', no tears. "Serious" got raped though.

That's one of my first purchases from Dubplate.net too.

could be down to Heathmans closing, i know they mastered a lot of stuff... and perhaps when they went people went elsewhere to rush sh*t out

the main engineer from Heathmans is back in the game tho, so maybe quality will raise a bit..

no doubt Transition are up to their eyeballs on stuff to master aswell, all you need to do is look at the amount of releases out on a weekly basis to know that the cutting houses are working overtime

My The Bug - Stompin sounds so pathetic that I don't even bother even getting it out of it's sleeve.

It is a real shame when you buy something but it sounds so bad you don't really want to play it. I've got that with road rage/666, it's the same with my untrue album - I hardly ever want to play that on vinyl. Tempered sounds pretty weak as well, but it doesn't stop me from playing it

Sort of the same problem with 'Debt' in my opinion.
no doubt Transition are up to their eyeballs on stuff to master
Transition are nothing special , their mastering and cuts are very average
and they dont put much time and effort into their work.
its funny to see them be adopted as the place to go for mastering by a scene which values sound quality and BASS.
There is a LOT cheaper and BETTER place to master in the uk right now
Precise , Heathmans , Metropolis , Masterpeice are head and shoulders above transition and cheaper.
