Best advice i can give you for the best dubstep tracks is to :

Go to a record shop and sit there for a while and listen to everything they got..just like we all did in the old days.
Buy music because you like it and not because its KOOL. I used to go through hundreds of tracks and buy the 1's i liked reguardless of who it was produced by.

Of course, owning the hot track is essential..if you like it.

I dont usually get involved to deep on this forum but as im seeing more and more of these threads i thought it needed to be said.

In order to keep this scene healthy we need to support the music.

I dont say this to be rude and hope it dont come across that way.

Theres so much good music in this scene that it all needs to be checked.

Enjoy listening.

whatever this guy said ^

add:

for just a djs like me its hard to buy a record because it costs lots. so you can only pick 1 of hundreds - that really helps to make yourself top notch selection. if you have loads of money to buy loads of records - your bad

and yes more and more i see posts like - "i'm too broke to buy new *super producer* record what in the world should i do"

dont buy it atm save your money compare and buy better record when it comes out. if tune you want is a banger, every one on your block will be playing it

Just pause the credits at the end of an episode of 'SKINS' and transcribe it all in your One Tree Hill notepad

Everyday I go on chemical records to listen to what has been released (sad? o well) I buy anything that I like because to be honest I do have the money (Not because I'm a rich tnuc but because I work hard), I also have a lot of tunes from these "super producers" But I have a lot of tunes from less known producers. To the guy that was saying don't buy 100's of vinyl just buy one so you have a top notch collection, well I say that i have a "top notch" collection but When I buy vinyl I buy a lot to be fair and I love every single tune that i buy, seems though your coming down a bit hard on people buying a lot of vinyl Ironically who are supporting the scene by buying this amount

Also Cyrus your set at dmz was hectic!

Much needed post.

Why would you need to ask people what to listen to in the first place!?!?!

so true!
im pretty broke myself, but i still troll boomkat and look for gems as much as i can. building a quality record collection slowly is much better than grabbing as many tunes as you can because you're playing out this weekend.

This thread is so true.

Before I got into dubstep I DJed house and started getting tracks that I knew people would react to on the floor rather that tracks I really loved and it just got boring for me.

*Only buy records you love* is the best tip! If you're not 100% sure you like it, don't get it!

so many people don't understand this

they buy shit wobblers off of beatport and don't feel the music they are hearing

whether bassface or goosebumps...

music should be an emotional, personal thing
