This is all based off of my PC knowledge, I dont use macs much, but from what I understand, you havent changed any settings, installed any new hardware, or generally made any major system changes and now its running slower. Probably time to reformat, I assume macs get cluttered as PCs do. But yeah ...

I own a pair of Beyer dt-770s (80 ohm). Ive had them for quite a while now, no problems at all, I highly highly recommend them. I'd suggest doing a lot of research if you are planning on dropping serious coin on any headphones though.
