Re: Bouncing on Logic

Think you might have bounce in real time selected =) hit cmd b and under the bounce options select change it from realtime to offline.
Your better off bouncing everything in realtime though, it seems to sound a lot cleaner that way.

Re: Writers Block

I had this about a month a go, and lasted a couple of weeks. I think writers block comes when you do nothing but make music in your spare time, and it's really frustrating because i know all you want to do is make tunes. What i found helped the most was taking some time out from writing music for a ...

Re: Song Dissection

I've started to do this recently due a friend(who's doing very very well in the trance scene) recommending it. He basically said sit at your computer with notepad open, and play a track you like from beginning to end all the while writing down exactly what happens where. I worked in 8 bar sections a...

Re: Copyright

If you do a remix it is technically illegal and breach of copyright if you sample and of the original recoding, or use the melody without permission but in the more underground scenes you can geneally get away with it until you start making serious money, at which point if the copyright holder gets ...

Re: Ive decided to make Trance for the rest of the month

I don't really write dubstep at all, i love listeneing to the atmosphere it creates which is something we're trying to utilise in our freeform productions.. Freeform is similar to production style as trance but at 170 - 180 bpm (generally). Also anything goes with freeform, so it you want a heavy du...

The tbk is nice but the lack of a proper resonance control is a serious flaw. Much prefer camal phat for that reason.

Re: The Logic Q&A Thread

Here's another one. For hip-hop drum beats and such, how would you make them sound more natural and less quantized? Right now I am just drawing them in in the hyper-editor, and they sound way too rigid and mechanical. Am I just going to have to buy a drum pad deal and tap them in? Ah, also, why won...

Re: The Logic Q&A Thread

Do you mean zoom as in pressing Z short cut key? Because z is the key to zoom and fit the selected regions into the arrange window, hence why it seems to change randomly =)

Re: Ear protection

Strangely enough i ordered some of the music safe pros ( got them from amazon rather than chemical though) because i have had a ringing in my ears since new year. Some days it's fine but when i think about it, i hear it a lot clearer. I'll be getting some of the custom er's as soon as i can afford t...

Re: I have been featured in Big Up Magazine :D

Just trawl through your fave labels websites for email address/ contact and message them a 128k version of the track. Be careful though If the tracks up for free download then you'll find it very hard, and also be careful who you give the track out to =) That's how we got out freeform releases so i ...

Re: any way to make your synths sound shitty?

you also get izotope vinyl which is free, do a search for it. Crank the dust setting to full and then set the wear amount to taste. Really good plug in for this sort of stuff. Also if you have a tape player with an input then record the sound/synth you want through the tape player onto tape. Then re...

Re: The Logic Q&A Thread

To get true panning and placement on any synth if logic you need to use sends. With your chosen synth loaded create 2 busses, and put the send on them to full and set the track output to NO OUTPUT. Now place a gain plug in on each bus and set it to MONO. Inside one of the gain plugs pan it all the w...

Re: Pre built PC's (HELP NEEDED)

Apple student discount is 10% mate. I have a mac pro but the new i macs looks sick. I was a bit dubious when choosing to get a mac but don't regret it at all. You can also buy parallel which allows you to run any windows programs at the same time as anything in osx which looks extremely handy. I've ...
