Highlight the notes in the piano roll and press M, that will unmute the individual notes. Also you sure you haven't got automation of it muting?

I'm new to logic, and seem to abandon the mixer section for some reason lol, I didn't even think to add anything like maximizers or limiters
you abandon the mixer?
yeah, back on FL i had to open it to get to stuff, but because logic got the channel strip on the side I don't open ...

go into Safe Mode, press start, run, write in MSCONFIG
go to startup and disable anything that looks fishy, while you're doing this go on the internet and write in the name of the startup services in the list, it will tell you what it is most time and whether its safe to disable or not.
