i paid 250 for a mint unit 5 years ago. They definitely have a different vibe from your usual software samplers.
you ask if they are easy to use? depends on what you think is easy. I would say no if your used to software interfaces, you'll be getting mighty friendly with the small 40 some ...

Allen and Heath ZED R16
i just picked up one of these amazing mixers a few days ago. The first thing i tried to see it would do is make my softsynths sound better. Well that was an understatement, They sound infinitely better!!!!!!

I must say for the money you pay for Reaper, you get ALOT of bang for your buck! This essentially will be my master daw for the foreseeable future.

Re: FL on mac... Possible?
FL is pretty much something id only use for midi. seems tight enough to controll all my hardware synths and drum machines.
only thing is I dont get the groove like I do on my MPC.

Cmon guys, there much better DAW's out there than FL Studio, I can guarantee it. If your gonna lay down the cash for a Mac you might as well get something a little more worth while than FL.

Re: Best Hardware Synths For around £400
i second the Moog. I have an LP, and it SLAYS! so much bite and punch, more than my modular synth even.
The JP8000 is great for non bass applications, and non analog sounding applications. I use it all the time for its blantant digital sound.

Drumcorps and Arron Spectre slay most of the stuff ive heard on here so far. Then again he is more breakcore meets metals.

Re: FL?
i dont really use VST's that much, i try to avoid them as much as possible. I pretty much was VST free for years up until i got NI Komplete, which was for the most part something i would never buy or upgrade, unless it was for Reaktor, Absynth and FM8. The rest id use hardware.

Re: FL?
FL is woefully lacking in many departments. As far as I know you cant freeze any of your VST's which means lots of CPU power is required.
Its because of CPU limitations i ditched softies and got me some real hardware. Now i dont need any of the functions of FL. I do all my sequencing on my ...

FL under appreicated? ha. People who use it think its the best thing since sliced bread. Although i think its the redheaded step sister of DAW's to date. I thought it was cool 10 years ago, now? theyre soo much better stuff out there.

Re: Studio Purchases 2009
I just got rid of my EMX1 this year. I almost used it exclusively for 2 years, even made my first attempt at dubstep with it in 2008, was a good song, just the EMX drum sucked for dubstep.
