Re: Getting a bassy kick drum

I'd recommend finding a really nice, bassy sample, rolling off slightly less than you currently are or not at all, and sidechain the sub so that the kick can punch through and the frequencies don't interfere. Amazing.

New software that splits mp3 files up into solo tracks for each part. Anyone seen this before? The fact that I found out about it from BBC news makes me think that it may have been around but its just passed me by.

Re: DJ Equipment for beginners

Go digital, it's the future. Check out DJ software (eg. Traktor, Serato, Virtual DJ, TORQ, Ableton live). You'll need a laptop to run it, and a midi controller. One of the problems with digital however is that you can potentially lose presence when compared to CDJs, so I'd recommend a big fuck of ...

Re: Label Interest Dilemma - for "Falcon Punch!"

yeah yeah true, spose publicitys always a good thing. I googled it the other week after someone suggest I release it on beatport on the Brostep Tune Battle Voting thread, but from what I gathered i though you can't release music on beatport without being signed to a label.

Re: Label Interest Dilemma - for "Falcon Punch!"

Yeah. I take on board what you say about having 2 or 3 tracks, it makes sense. But actually I'm impressed with a couple of the names the label has actually signed (RAKoon and Twisted amongst others) as Ive actually got some of their tunes in my library, which perhaps makes me think they might have ...

Re: Label Interest Dilemma - for "Falcon Punch!"

All great responses. As for the labels I contacted in fairness, not that many, there was this one, "insect records", "10 ton recordings" and im not even sure if there were any more. I think I may have been quite lucky with this one. The new label itself looks promosing (im not mentioning the name at ...
