I've been making hiphop for over twelve years now.

Some tips i use:

Work on a double tempo. Like if you want to make a 92bpm beat use 184bpm. This way you have more room
to place the drums. It's pretty much the same as producing dubstep though. Just the steps are shorter.

Good be some of the following:

- shitty soundcard, get a better one.
- wrong driver installed.
- audiocables defect.
- mixer outputs dirty or defect, clean them.

All you have to do is print them on sticker paper and paste them on

look up circuit board priniting at home... they make these special kits where you print your text out on this lil card, lay the card down n put this acidetch jelly stuff on it... then you just gotta put some paint in the recesses it makes.

I owned a mpc 2000xl and mpc1000. I have to say they are fun to use. But for me they are too limited.
I had problems with how far their abilities could go, even with hiphop beats wich are more sample based.
I sold them and am purely working with cubase 5 and midicontrollers now.

When you say 'background noise' do you mean it is constant, or follows the original sub?

I can def hear the lower quality of Youtube, the sound you're hearing could be a slight bitcrushing of the sub, due to the lower sample rate?
