NYC - EXCISION - AUG132010 (Webster Hall)

I uploaded some HD videos from this past Friday. My phone managed to capture the audio and video exceptionally well, so check them out. Some awesome tunes were recorded... though I couldn't get the full songs as I was too busy dancing. :D

Practicing my mixing. I think this all flows very fucking nicely if I do say so myself... And I am especially fond of the mashup of the last two songs ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for MAY, 2010

Need to add sub bass, but this is one of my better engineered songs, in terms of levels and what not. It's nothing too serious, but you might like the melody...

I think I have a potential monster on my hands with this... The breakdown at the end is my favorite part and it was sort of an accident. Kinda rippin on the metalcore thing haha.
EDIT : UPDATED! Remastered a little bit. Added some samples, extended some ...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for APRIL, 2010

This is supposed to be a banging wet turd, but it might just be a turd. I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. The drums are fucking on point though.

Re: Excision - Radio1 30 min Mix

Robot Seckz is my favorite off this. It's like a perfectly placed banger to set things in the right pace... Awesome mix dude, had a 3 hour car ride yesterday and listened to it 4 or 5 times. :D

Re: Works-in-Progress for feedback--MARCH 2010

Made this today in a rather disorganized way but I think it turned out okay. Drums need to be chilled out in the beginning, missing some cymbals after the drop, but check it out.

Fat horns and wobbles and bazz.

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

Actually just listened with a better pair of head phones and I really like this track a lot! I think the main synth just has a lot of reverb on it, but I do like how it goes from a pretty "wide" sound to a tight on some beats. Really nice job.

Um. I don't have much online, I put the sketchy-frame ...

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

^ Sounds very springy, but I like it... Maybe another part or 2 thrown in between the main part for variation. The "ay-yi-yi" it's cool, and I like using something like that there, but maybe not that. Also perhaps it's a bit derivative of like Doctor P / Funtcase but I still like it. ;) Cool track ...

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

HALO DUBSTEP. completely unfinished, probably won't sound like this, but feedback on what works and what doesn't is helpful. drums need to be louder, and probably different.

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

It needs some more variation... It seems mostly like atmosphere for me. Of course if you're going for a chilled out vibe, it might not need much else, save for some drum and bass...

Re: DSF Q&A Sessions 5 : Numbernin6

"Horndog" in your 'A Second Opinion' mix is probably one of my top dubs of all time. Love that mix too man. We must have similiar tastes.

How do you usually start building up a synth? Trimming samples real short, looping, and distorting them? Working with straight tones?

In that song ...

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

FIRST POST - FIRST DUB. Seriously, just learned Ableton in this past week, tried to bang something substantial out for a few hours tonight. This is the result. After testing it in my car I noticed some kind of weird sub-bass/synth dissonance, but I can't be sure. Let me know. It's supposed to be a ...

Re: PUT YOUR WORKS-IN-PROGRESS HERE FOR FEEDBACK.

Thanks, yeah I just sorted out my mixing issues... Everything was just way too fucking high in the mix and arbitrarily distributed. Bring it down but pumping the system volume sounds much better than just a blasted out mix. I'm gonna experiment with another snare layer, as I kind of put this kit ...
