Depends on the tracks we're talkin my answer refered to the older blawan tracks, the iddy, lavender, type stuff... ever since shader came out, and the newer stuff, he simply seems to use incredible kits... 6 to 6 licks is a proof that the man is a genius... some of his drums sound pretty dirty imo.....

How about a discrete fx unit that would allow me filter curves reminiscent of anything acid

im tweaking patches in vsts i like and would like to squelch them up

any FX vst / au to recommend ? (im on a macbook pro)

convexation still is my fav groove a year later... its incredible

as djs i have been told they're very clean but play in the same waters for a whole set.. nothing too extravagant, too vibey, too deep...

id enjoy a blawan set much more i guess

but their production level is insane

cut your lows AFTER compressing, on your bass/mids, makes the sound fatter and the compression less obvious. Depending on what you want to achieve it could be considered very bad mixing advice. Low frequencies tend to make compressors go stoop and clip sounds in a rather unpleasant way. I personall...
