Re: DAW for PCmost similar to Logic?
i still keep a PC running Logic 5.5, my next choice would be Reaper because it's great for on the spot recording of live events when you need something to load fast. Reaper is actually my main PC DAW right now with Ableton as my tool for composition. On my Mac it's Ableton for composition and Logic ...

Re: Preparing Audio for Youtube
what about changing the Audio from AAC to AIFF or WAV? just a thought. AAC is technically compressed data that is then decoded on playback. sending an uncompressed format may work better for you since youtube re-compresses everything on upload and playback.

Re: Music Production PC's
if you're serious about music production i'd build one. check out this motherboard if you are looking for a low cost board: the ASRock X58 Extreme for about 179.00 USDM and an i7 processor for about 279.00 USDM

Re: Which audio interface to get???

kidlogic are you running two cores or a single Pentium?
i haven't moved off 1.8 because 1.9 for some reason stopped recording on my Gateway 2.0ghz single core Pentium.
i'm thinking it's a memory management issue.

Re: How to make this sound
it's a string/voice pad layered perhaps with lots of reverb.
question is where to start.
i have basic knowledge of synthesis so i'm not sure try an FM synth like OP4 for OS X or NI's FM8
compare it to a sample based synth like Rapture or Massive to see how close you can get.

Re: good hardware synths for dubstep
Is this for live performance or studio use? this matters. in the studio you can use one synth to layer multiple bass parts.
live however, you would need to be able to split performance patches to be able to do that otherwise you just have one synth and one sound at a time (monophonic).
also what ...

Logic Express is still a good buy. It doesn't come with Mainstage (a live performance tool) and Soundtrack Pro (Cool Edit 2000 for editing audio) it also doesn't include the sound library of loops. here's further explanation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic_Express

it's decent. i'd go for it if that's what you can afford. there's so many USB interfaces it's really about who makes the better drivers in that price range. m-audio gear has been pretty solid for me. i use the firewire version called the profire 610. On the FastTrack Pro it's a stereo pair on the ...

Thanks for the reply Sharmaji...I checked out your pages too, good stuff. Right now we're looking for someone in LA who can potentially be a permanent member after we do this tour in April. I added you on myspace though so when we reach NYC we'll let you know. Peace.

Re: Looking for a good reliable drummer in Los Angeles, CA
been there done that. CL attracts a lot of wannabe hollywood types. i'm looking for someone who knows what VCO, VCF, and ADSR mean. can cut samples up and produce records just as much as play drums...pipe dream probably but my last drummer could do all that he just had family obligations.

Looking for a good reliable drummer in Los Angeles, CA
Looking for drummer to play an electronic drum kit. We have some gear that we invested in. Our sound is a mix of drum n' bass, grime, dancehall reggae, dub step and elements of rock, hip-hop, and world music. Although we don't play to a click or to sequencers we do encourage ableton live use. A ...
