You can get different effects from each technique. If you are re doing a sub hit under the highs of another kick it could be beneficial as you can pick the note of the sub hit a lot easier than having to tune a kick with a sub already in it (although obviously when a sub goes past a certain point ...

I like the re worked sound of the 90's Juke music that has been flying around of late. It occurred to me that a lot of the artists putting it out are very tech savvy and know what they are doing as producers. Yet when listening to the music it is quite apparent that this is very basic stuff with 808 ...
