Re: Layering kicks with phase

I've recently found that a really good way to keep the phase in check with layering kicks is to use linear phase EQ's. Ozone mastering EQ is decent as is the Pro-Q, although you have to enable the linear phase mode on Pro-Q. Not sure what sequencer you are using but in Cubase you can move audio by t...

Re: Using guitar rig on basses

works really good as an auxillary send with the bottom rolled off.

also sounds a bit better when you dont use the cabinets imo. much better to tailor it with an EQ instead.

also really good for faking guitar sounds and putting guitar solos in your tunes. :)

Re: Sub Bass Trouble

most of the time you dont even need to do half of the compress eq shit people say you need to do. if your sub sounds fine when it's solo'd try keeping it solo and putting individual channels on solo with the sub until it loses defintition. chances are one or maybe more sounds in the mix are contribu...

Re: synth width and the mix

you have to be careful with that dimension expander plugin though because when you reload a project it often/always forgets the settings you had it on.

can be a nightmare if you are returning to mixdowns

Re: Camel Crusher VST questions

its really useful as a limiter (compressor section), for automating volume on the channel when you dont want to do it on the fader (just in case you want a sound to sweep from 0-100 but haven't decided how loud you want 100 on the track just yet) use that all the time for sweeps actually using a tou...

Re: Noisia Future Music Video Coming Soon!

I'd love to see a bit more about how they use bitcrushers in mastering. the amount of power in their mixdowns is incredible. Noisia will always be the top for me, however i'd prefer if they brought the same style of tracks like the tide/end game / block control at 140bpm instead of lighter bits like...
