Hey guys,
so here's the deal, I have a few synths and players that all have an RCA output, including my focusrite saffire 6 usb that has RCA outputs. The problem is that i'd like to hook them up to speakers that have an XLR input. I could just get the right cables yes, but the problem is some of my ...

Re: Is an external soundcard important?

Buy what you need.
There will be a lot of people here saying spend big or go home, ask them what they've got. They may have a focusrite saffire 6 or a Lexicon, but they have never recorded in using ...

@arfus I think it sounds pretty damn good! Maybe the synth is a BIT loud, but overall the production is good, I really have nothing bad to say about it, looking forward to the whole thing

Re: Is an external soundcard important?
Your right having real digital sound processing and a set of REAL A/D D/A converters really will set your sound quality backwards.. not to mention ASIO drivers are a joke so f(*k it right... you better stick with a crappy onboard stereo mini jack setup that has a shit ton of white noise and ...

Re: Is an external soundcard important?
Thanks man. But thing is, right now they sound fine. And when I check the external sound cards, I just see RCA outputs mostly, and one XLR, for mics and stuff I guess. Buying an external seems like it'd put me back, since i'd have to get additional cables. I'm not really trying to achieve perfection ...

@ filthzilla: Damn! I really love this one. The rhythm and composition is really sweet! I don't really know what to say, maybe some parts feel a bit empty, a pad or more hi hats might work, but again I think it's pretty damn good as it is! Keep up the great work man

Re: Need help giving more low-end growl to a sound
is that seriously a synth!?
sounds like a Jurassic Park sample!
and you state, slight distortion, but why does that sound heavily distorted?
lower the volume levels.
and some unison to it
Haha yep, just a couple of massive instances and a wow filter. I think it's the combination of the built ...

Haha thanks everyone
I'm uploading screenies of how I made it, but truthfully it's nothing much, just porta and distortion. I'm gonna try all your techniques to see what I can come up with!

Re: Need help giving more low-end growl to a sound
too much reverb. you could just put reverb on the tail and just reverb the highs. You could try to sweep in the lower end with a notch filter and add some distortion on it... That`s a sample, right?
Nope it's a synth I made with massive, with added simple eq and light distortion :)

Re: Need help giving more low-end growl to a sound
idk i wouldnt really consider it much of a bass though. its def a bit higher up. sounds like a dinosaur roaring. does sound cool though ill give you that. if you cant figure out how to give it more low end i would just eq it more and use it as an intro effect. i think it would be really sick if you ...
