Glitchy melodic 150bpm - Crusher (FitG VIP)

Remix I did for a friends EP that never really dropped. I liked the song, so I decided just to give it out to you guys to d/l. I'd love to know what y'all think. He was experimenting with field recordings, so the children playing sound he recorded in Baltimore. I was experimenting with how many ...

Post-Dubstep ...basically anti-brostep? Stepstep?

so my friend just showed me this article (which kinda sucks) but it seems interesting. Far as I can tell it's dubstep that is actually dubstep. Chill, dark, some future garage and IDM influence. Basically the antithesis of filth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-dubstep

Seems like people are just ...

Re: progressive metal dubstep?!?!? Djentstep? Sweet!

djent is the new catchphrase for progressive/math metal as far as I can tell. I think it's pretty cool, since I like dubstep, and I like metal. These guys know their way around a guitar, and the drumming is tight. It's cool to see someone with actual musicality try their hand at dubstep.

progressive metal dubstep?!?!? Djentstep? Sweet!

OK - now dubstep is in everything. Anyone who likes progressive metal/djent will really be into this. I like seeing some musicality in dubstep, and double bass drum fills are pretty tight. I love this song!

Re: 'Screamo' Samples/Acapellas?

it's not screamo in the least, but Lamb of God's last two albums have a "producers edition" with all the instruments separated for every song on their. And Lamb of God is pretty damn brutal. Loads of good stuff in there to be mined for sure.

Re: [free 320]Church Vs. State [vocal drumstep/glitchstep]

thanks for chiming in, guys. Yeah, I've found doing vocals for a song makes it 5x more work. Going syllable by syllable and making sure each layer syncs up perfectly takes forever!

hey guys. First go 'round at doing vocals. Just wondering is you guys are into it or not. Lemmie know if I should do more like this, or just stick to instrumentals...

Is combichrist dubstep?!?!?

OK. We may all disagree on what "real" dubstep is or is not. But I'm pretty sure we can all answer this question pretty definitively

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011

heres my new tune. just started it yesterday and i guess i have most of the basic skeleton down and im just trying to get most of the levels right.

I really liked the ominous nature of the track ... very brooding. It make me think of the suspenseful moment before the killer does his thing ...

Re: Slowest/Fastest dubstep song?

I realize the faster it is the closer to drumstep or corestep or faststep or whatever subgenre you might want to put to it, I was using dubstep in the broadest sense of the term (you know, like "techno" - I keed, I keed).

Slowest/Fastest dubstep song?

I was driving to work today and was wondering what the slowest and fastest dubstep songs are (while still being "dubstep", and actually sounding "good", and actually released). Granted anyone can do technical wankery and make a 1bpm song or a 5448795bpm song and put the snare on 3 and 7, but I was ...

Re: Resampling in Ableton

I'm no guru, but it does seem that if you take a bass sound with movement (lfo, whatever) then resample it, and try to add a different lfo you'll have different amounts of movement conflicting with one another. Shouldn't your re sampling be just adding eq, distortion, or effects like that?

Re: My first Dubstep Attempt

might I suggest that you post it under "production" under "works in progress" or "finished tracks for feedback" if you need feedback. Most ppl are pretty prompt, and I got some nice words of advice from it. I'd listen to your track now, but I'm at work and have no speakers. If ever I have some time ...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- MAY 2010

hey guys. I just finished this track, and I'm having a hard time getting my kicks/sub going well. This track has a reese-esque wobble coming from ableton simpler, and another more tech-y wobble coming from Thor in reason 4. I should really get some decent monitors, but it sounds OK on my car stereo ...
