Lodestone nailed it except for that if you're using a 32 bit DAW like Ableton Live, it can only make use of 4gb of ram even on a 64 bit OS. 4gb with room to upgrade is probably the way to go.

Sylenth looks a bit daunting when you first pull it up and get a screen full of tiny controls but it's actually pretty easy once you find your way round it.

First post! Like others posted above, you're probably using the relative major key yeah. But you can also go a lot further with the concept, cause a minor key also has other relative keys than major. Meaning you can move between different moods and keys while still using the exact same notes.
