Crusader is one of the best "New" tracks released on Dub Police, series rolling tune.
It's a shame that the people in the video are most likely not dancing to this instead dancing to some Doctor P or something.

the wobble that comes in at 0:26 is a little muddy. and I think the drums are a little too quiet in comparison. I think making that 'wobble' crisper by boosting some of the higher frequencies and maybe cutting the sub a little will give it more impact. try referencing jakwob - fire to ...

I was struggling with that and still do. but as kaiori says using delays can fatten out a few sporadic notes. I picked that up off subscape as he uses lots of simple melodies and adds delay to go over the top of a simple chord progression in the bass part.

@nylle: yea agree about the kick in that tune. maybe cut some of the low end off it if youre gona stick with that sample. and some more variation in the drum pattern could be cool cos the bit around 1:08 sounds refreshing.

@Dissent: pretty punchy bass. really like the breakdown where the beat changes up. maybe mix up the rate on the lfo abit to get your basses moving some more.

@sirminius: some really cool sounds in there. I reckon something like a double time or 4/4 beat could get that really vibing.

Anyone know how to get a bass sound like this? (0:22 ->) It's used in 'squid attack' aswell. It sounds really crispy but fat at the same time. I'm using massive but just can't get the same punch.

99% of the time, some combination of the drums (kick/snare/hat/maybe percussion,etc) are all going to a drum buss which gets parallel-compressed & saturated, and gets the drums sounding huge. if I need more kick to cut through after that, i'll send the kick, alone, to a bus that has no compression ...

yea, I just bought 'back for the first time' and 'echo in my head' promos. they both have artwork and b-sides, so idk. i'll just keep buying them haha

may sound really stupid, but i just bought some 1210's and was looking on chemical records to order in some vinyl and noticed loads of tracks that aren't yet out on digital have [promo] next to the title. was just wondering what this meant..
