Re: Not a fan of long intros?

All depends on the tune... but long drawn out intros usually mean that the focus of the tune is the drop, and I am not into big heavy drops..

I like zomby intros, like in digital flora, clipped and just dive straight into the tune...

Re: Whos The Best Dubstep Producer At The Moment?

Clubroot at the moment.

But Distance is probably the best producer at the moment.

Jks, you went from clubroot at the moment, to distance at the moment... You got your mp3 on shuffle or something?

Bit subjective really, but Hyetal and Guido are the men for me right now... Phoenix is too good ...

Re: mixing tips

I sometimes mix in some of the old lovers rock stuff that i inherited from my uncle, usually quite fun..

Like I started a set with 'I'm So Sorry' from Carroll Thompson and mixed in Appleblim's Circling... good fun.

Lover's rock is pretty dubby soulful stuff usually on a half tempo tip.. very ...

Re: INTRODUCING ORCA RECORDINGS 002 - HYETAL

I pre-ordered this 12" ages ago...and day by day the anticipation builds.

So many ideas buzzing through my head about how to fit this into sets etc...

Top quality stuff from Hyetal and the Orca crew.

Any chance that we get a free digital file with the vinyl? Maybe even beforehand if I can show ...

Re: BPM transitions (mixing help)

Rah... just did some research.. for anyone who wants to know, metric modulation is the answer!

Its essentially using the timescale of coherent pieces as a guide and creating a seemingly out of sync mix that becomes coherent at certain points in the mix. Probably try this out, though I have to get ...

Re: BPM transitions (mixing help)

Cheers for the help you lot..

Will go home and mess about with it all, still unsure about the notion that there are loads of tracks with multiple tempos in them on the breakdowns or whatever. I mix mostly left-field type of stuff on vinyl, and most of the breakdowns keep the same tempo, or if ...

I don't wanna be a wanger... bottom line.

Tragic if that's how it has to be though, surely there are other ways. I just got a korg kaoss pad, maybe I can sample some stuff and then transition, more hip-hop style cuts? I dunno, tis frustrating...
