Re: DSF SAMPLE PACK COMPETITION-29
Cheers, just voted.
Just a quick point - wouldn't it be better NOT to state who people voted for, so as not to influence others' decisions?
Congrats to all the guys that contributed, really great work and not a dud amongst them (ie no pointless tuneless 'wobblez')

Embedded track might help:
http://soundcloud.com/icr/icr-spacemans-solitude-2010
sounds like a rimshot not a standard snare to me :W:
Okay I had another bash at getting this snare sound, but I can't even get bloody close!!!! Used a range of samples rims, sticks, snares, claps and layering ...

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread
Cheers for the tip, chap. Yep, been through them all, and 123 certainly seems to be similar-ish. I'll see if a bit of processing can push it even closer. Ta!

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread
Is it acceptable to ask for help with a sound that isn't bass/reese/wub related?!?!?
I want to break from tradition and ask if anyone knows how to make the snare in this track:

Cheers guys.
I can't believe I've not been doing this before actually, seems to be a great way to learn about how sounds are layered and blended.

Question regarding A/B'ing your mixes....
Well a couple of questions.. :)
Firstly, do you guys A/B against reference tracks constantly while putting a track together, just at the end during the mix-down, or not at all (!)
I've never really done this before, but having listened to some of my tracks not being as full as I wanted, I think it ...
