Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
I was on here previously complaining that there is something wrong with my mixed and that i dont think its me. anyways... i noticed something else I am in ableton and I am previewing sample in the browser on the left hand side. I find a nice juicy kik that i like so I drag it into the arrangement vi...

Re: Audio Interface
music sounds fine as far as I can tell. The samples are top notch. even when I import lets say 2 pro drum loops and cut them up with eachother it seems like somehow there is clarity lost. The kick just wont bump in the bass frequency... even if i cut everything else below 150 and notch the bass wher...

Audio Interface
Howdy, I own an audio interface that's over 10 years old (MAudio Delta)... I have been reading that the old interfaces has lower quality DACS that could impede the sound quality of your music. I have been having issues where I feel there is something off about my mixes especially when it comes to th...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
bRRRz - badboy-style-short-wip-for - I like it but i would cut the reverb on the synths as well as make a dip in the mid range.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
deafblindmusic - great tune. i love the drop. Great job on the synth and keeping the mix clear and punchy despite being pretty busy with sounds. I would make the intro shorter. ambinate - I am a big fan of this. I noticed that alot of producers (imo) miss the song writting/arranging aspect when they...

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
Out of curiosity
What does your new live set template look like?
I have
Track 1 - Kik - Instrument rack with 2 Simplers
Track 2 - Snare - Instrument rack with 3 Simplers
Track 3 - Percussion - Drum Rack
I find that these are the barebone essential when Im starting almost any track of any genre

Re: The Ableton Q&A Thread
This is a simple question that I just cat figure out or find the solution to. In Ableton Live 7: How do I select all volume faders and control them at once? ie. I want to turn everything down -6db and dont feel like individually go through each track. Sadly (and stupidly) you can't. They didn't int...

Re: Hardware vs vst?
The microkorg is a really good hardware solution for not a lot of money.
New one was (2 years ago) $500 CAD and I picked up a used one for half that.
Its a small synth and the interface needs getting used to but it packs a massive punch in the bass dept.

Re: Anyone actively making hiphop still?
Glad to see this topic. I started out producing hip hop and have recently returned to it. My productions style is very much east coast flavoured. I think that these beats are pretty solid. If anyone wants collab remix and/or whatever then hit me up http://soundcloud.com/billy-cristal/million-dollar-...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
@itrymybest - very nice synths on fuck yeah. Love the lead at around 1:20. Reminds me of some aphex twin. Nice and crispy drums but I would like to see you switch up the pattern a little bit in the begining to keep it interesting. I think that the changes in the synths and melody keep this it inters...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- DECEMBER 2010
Max4Beats - new life - the track has a nice stagger propelled by the nice bass line. I would perhaps stack another snare on top of the existing one to give it some more umph. The washes of noise are also quite successful in keeping a lucid flow. Good work. frizzwah - artke remix - your ideas are goo...

HAVE you ever worked on a tune for a week that you were extremely happy with and then accidentaly saved over it? Then stared to experience a feeling that can only be described as sobbing and dry heaving?

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010
@mashmash - first tune sounding good. i would process the main bass synth more to give it more of interesting sound. ITs the focal point of the track and sounds a little bland after a bit. You could also afford to throw something in around 1:30. 2nd track is nice. Great bass and good use of sample. ...
