Re: Logic X(not release news)
Is there something I'm missing about the pan pots in the mixer? Does the direction mixer or whatever the F it's called work better? I've never had issues with the mixer regarding panning. The pot on the mixer is just a balance control for left and right, the directional mixer is true panning.True pa...

Re: Logic X(not release news)
One thing i wish they would implement is proper pan pots to the mixer, why oh why such a simple thing and you have to add a fucking plug. Also a synth that will go head to head with all the heavy weights, the es2 is just pants and thats being kind...... I could go on and on and on but we will wait an...

The yellow bar next to that automation. hold down the OPT key and drag it. That's quality, had no idea. Yeah, I gotcha, but it's still inconvenient to have to open up the au...

Logic Volume Automation Trick
I hate that when you have a track in "read" mode and you have volume automation on that track, that you can no longer use the track's fader to globally affect the automation i.e. if I want to raise the volume +1db across the board, but keep the automation as is, I have to select all the an...

Re: Creating "warm" synths
Try some plug-ins that model analog gear - overload them, etc. a lot of times that will give you a nice warm feeling

Re: Logic users....
I wouldn't worry about it too much. They already have a dumbed down version (logic express). Also, I think Apple has found a good place in this market (DAWs), because ProTools just ditched their requirement that you use their hardware (because Logic and other DAWs have been stealing market share), s...

Vintage/Analog warmth for logic
Came across a cool tip today for getting that analog warmth in logic without having to go out and buy a third party plug-in. Turns out the TAPE delay is named as such for a reason. If you turn off sync, turn the delay time down to 0ms, bring down the feedback, and mix wet/dry signals to your liking ...

Re: Mixing an entire album...where to start?
book some time at a well-appointed studio to re-visit the mixes. You wanna learn something fast? The hot seat is a great way to do it. That's interesting advice, thanks. I've been thinking about doing this for my vocals. I hate standing alone in my apartment belting into a microphone haha. I also h...

Mixing an entire album...where to start?
So I did the whole "Write an album in february" thing, and I took it quite literal. Not just a collection of songs, but an album with a central theme. All the tracking and arranging is done, and now it is time to mix it down. I'm struggling with a few points here: 1. I have a tendency to m...

Re: load mp3's in logic's EXS24
I might be wrong on this, but it's worth a try. If you go to the audio bin and click add, you can add your mp3s that way, and I know depending on what type of file it is, logic converts it. So there's a chance it'll convert your mp3s to wav or aiff (depending on your settings). like I said, not sure...

Re: FUCKING FACEBOOK!
Not sure if this is your problem or not, but there's a major difference between a user profile and a fan page on Facebook. User profiles are only for people, fan pages are for other things (bands, companies, brands, etc.). If you're using a user profile for something that isn't an individual person ...

Re: Notch Filter on reason????
A notch filter controls a range of frequencies. So whereas a lowpass filter starts "closed" at 0 hz (for example) and the cutoff gradually opens to higher frequencies, a notch filter would let through a range of frequencies, and "block off" the other ones. So a notch filter could...

I like to use shakers too. Also, a good tip is putting a ghost kick or alt snare hit the 16th before your main snare. It gives a nice "step" if you will

Re: Ozone's self mastering guide
I've had a look through this guide and it's pretty useful. Especially since I have a habit of diving in and using stuff without using the manual. That being said it is really REALLY easy to overdo it with ozone, and it can really make your tune sound like shit if you don't use it right
