Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@ EDN the squashd / muddiness you're hearing is because I'm mastering my own tunes and I havent layered any sub bass in at all. the subs you hear are from the synths themselves. I'll do some work to clear em up and get a clean layer of sub in. thanks for the input

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
I recently broke my arm and I'm having some trouble finishing these tunes. I've decided to dabble in post production. any suggestions? I'm 17 btw.
all the feedback I'm giving I'm doing as soundcloud comments. you guys all have some pretty sweet tunes going!

thanks
when the drop kicks in at like 1:30 ish the music behind it is sick, definitely keep working on that I like the way it's sounding so far. you have some pretty good melodies going on yourself

Re: Demos and junk. (What're you all working on?)
really it sucks not being able to tweak the knobs if you catch my drift... :6:
as for the tune all I'm using is logic pro9 to record and an access virus TI2 for all my synth sounds. I've done a little bit of post processing with some of the native distortion plugins and some other fx native to logic ...

Demos and junk. (What're you all working on?)
I recently broke my arm at a show so I'm sorta stuck doing a lot of post production for demos and whatnot.
Lately I've been trying to do some of the drumming for my songs (via electronic drum kit) and I've been working on using toms and fills a LOT.

thanks for all the replies everyone!

I can't describe how helpful everything you've said is so far. :z:
There's still lots of things I need to learn and I'm definitely going to keep cranking out new songs and learning more and more, it's something I love doing.

What am I doing wrong?
I've been really upping my production recently and I feel as if I'm the verge of making really great music but I have a few doubts.
I'm not sure if I'm over critical of my own music or what it's just I feel nothing I make is good enough.
I've read pretty much everything I can and I've taken online ...

Re: mosh pits & dubstep
there's absolutely nothing wrong with moshing. if none of you guys want to mosh stand off to the sides and "dance"
most of what constitutes dancing is just standing and jumping in place or grinding on some random chick who's so wasted she won't even notice your nerdy forum lurking paws grip her ...

post the first dubstep song you ever made!
post the first dubstep song or just song in general you ever made here! It's always good to go back and listen to your old tunes and see how much you've improved. some of us have improved greatly while some of us are left doing this: :u:

get traktor s4, you can use it with any system anywhere. It has built in effects that you will love (you don't have to use them if you're not into this sort of thing)
for 1000 dollars it beats fiddling around with CD's while the crowd watches you and asks "what are those weird disks?!"
I can't tell ...

So I was playing around with my synth and here it is.
I'll give you a hint, one oscillator was used with NO resampling (shocker right?) no growling into a vocoder, no granulization, no pitch bending.
