Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for NOVEMBER, 2010

Feeling so uninspired after listening to tunes like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Yjtssi-gWk
Deleted most of my things off of soundcloud, I feel embarrassed in comparison to this kind of song haha.

I love this kind of sound, but I'm not quite sure if it's suitable for dubstep. I'm still very new to this genre so if you could please leave a comment telling me how it sounds to you, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010

@Olux That's fine, this is simply bass experimentation! While you may not like one kind, someone else may. Thanks for the feedback!

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for SEPTEMBER, 2010

I hope you all don't mind, but I'd like to share this track here. (I've posted it in the finished section as well.) I feel like it's still a work-in-progress type of tune, so I'd like to get as much feedback as I can. I'll be very open towards criticism, thanks for listening. :)

@Jem I write music for myself, not for 'kids' but thank you anyway. :)

I like the snare in this tune, it fits nicely with the beat you have going but I can imagine it to become annoying after a little while. Maybe the sub could be a little louder, unless you don't intend for it to be.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- SEPTEMBER 2010

@Wikum Loved the intro, the main melody and chords. I'm not very fond of the bass, but that wouldn't stop me from listening to this tune again. Just personal prefence, great job overall. :)

@DJWum Excellent sample choice and work. I feel that there should have been more build-up towards the bass ...

Re: WORKS IN PROGRESS FOR AUGUST, 2010

I'm getting so many ideas lately, but none of them turn into full songs... I just end up putting stupid Engineer samples over them. Any tips for finishing old song ideas, and actually getting to work? I have soooo many rough tracks that I loved for the longest time, but it seems I've been have ...

Re: Any one like "intelligent" dubstep?

There's a lot of bashing going on here... I feel kind of bad for him, why is everyone so mean? :/
It's not such a big deal if he chooses to classify his tunes that way... It's all just music in the end, does it really matter?

Also, I personally kind of like the fourth track. The main part at 0:23 ...

Re: WORKS IN PROGRESS FOR AUGUST, 2010

Here's another idea that popped into my head yesterday. Again, drums are very lazy for now but I kind of like how the synths and bass turned out. :) Very rough, as usual, just an idea at this point.

Re: Time signature deciphering....

You did come off a bit rude to me, I was just kidding around.. ;) From what I've listened to, it's not a fixed time signature. It's more of various polyrhythms alternating over a 4/4 tempo.

Re: WORKS IN PROGRESS FOR AUGUST, 2010

Glitchy... 8bit-y... dubstep? not a real track so I'm really not looking for criticism. It's more of a guilty pleasure to be shared with anyone who may also have one. :P

Listen to some Meshuggah for a month and you'll have no problem with time signatures... And I mean LISTEN. :)

What am I doing wrong? [Tune Included]

Hi there everyone, I've been getting into dubstep for the past year or so and have been working on some tunes in isolation (very little feedback from others), nothing amazing. Last night I got a few ideas and threw this song together, and I was pleased with it, but... Like all my songs or ideas ...
