Re: Anyone Know if This Exists? (Keytracking Harmonic Shaper/EQ)

I like this idea too. It seems like such an easy thing to implement, i'm surprised we don't see it more often. I've also been interested in an EQ where you could move one band's frequency and have the others follow automatically, maintaining the same distance/ratio. The same thing, I think, except I ...

Re: Acapella Site or DIY?

ps. lege, do you know what the copyright issues are with refills and instruments? if someone hears one of my tracks, and go "AYE! I MADE THAT SYNTH *&$^#*@" do you reckon they would hit me up? Hm, well, don't people make refills specifically for other people to use? Unless you're talking about (1 ...

Re: high gain distortion vst help :)

As far as free saturation/warmth plugins go, how about Ferox, Bootsy's NastyVSD (or anything else by Bootsy), TS's Secret (warning that this one is mono), Digital Fish Phones' THD.

Sometimes small amounts of digital clipping can be nice to get some crispy drums. If you DO want digital clipping, you ...

Re: vsts like melodyne/

Are you wanting something to correct vocal pitch a la Autotune? (Though, I assume you don't want the stereotypically over-processed sound popular with T-Pain et al. these days.)

If so, try looking at GSnap, AAS Autotune, the Windows version of Autotalent, Kerovee, and ReaTune. (ReaTune comes with ...

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread

I think you didn't understand what I want :D .
I want that funky synth in 0:29-0:31 , thanks.
but I'll your small tutorial out too ;) Whoops, sorry >_>

Hrmm, well, I'm not really sure which sound you mean then, to be honest. Do you mean the quiet filtered white noise sort of sound? Or the bass ...

Helps DSF :w: :P Well, if you haven't tried this already, get a synth with at least 3 sawtooth oscillators. Detune them slightly from one ...

Re: Time signature deciphering....

Oh hey, awesome to get the creator himself responding.

I really do dig the rhythms on this track. And the overall feel of it. Are the flutes and taiko drums sampled from the movie? The taikos sound too high quality for that, though.

(And thanks for the "very cool" compliment :)).

Re: Time signature deciphering....

Wow, that really is something.

The snare does outline a 4/4 backbeat that is surprisingly consistent. There are variations, but it's pretty regular; and every fourth bar, we get an extra variation where the first snare comes an extra 8th note early.

That is, assuming 8th notes, the essentials of ...
