Re: NI MASSIVE and FL Studio, tips for a beginner?

There are definitely videos like that. Also learning how to make different synth sounds w/ massive, or learning how to make different genres w/ FL will help you learn the "why" and what does what. Not sure exactly where you are at (you mentioned "you aren't great") I would do/wat...

Re: NI MASSIVE and FL Studio, tips for a beginner?

Also try YouTube, there are a lot of great tutorials for both.

Manuals are a great resource, but it can be helpful to see exactly what they are doing.

The production quality and mixdown are both great, however the lead stab is too trance-y for my taste.

I am guessing that's what you were going for though, so who cares what my taste is.

Can you investigate getting them repaired? Can't hurt to try and might be the best choice if your ears are used to this set up.

Re: BAR 9's older shit...

I've said already that the stones are clearly standard rock through and through. Zeppelin are one of the first metal bands though. Hendrix was so much closer to blues than those two bands. And yes, I am overly anal and intellectual. I never claimed otherwise XD My point was you are wrong You are sa...

Re: BAR 9's older shit...

I can kinda see what people mean here, I guess Hendrix did evolve into a kind of psychedelic-blues-rock. I just meant that really at it's core it's mostly blues. It's all based on blues scales and the general 'feel' of blues is so prominent in his tracks. I guess Jimi was playing rock with heavy bl...

Re: how do you know when your ready to play out?

I think I'd like to do unique mixes too, go through a bunch of different genres of music, go from some disco into a jazz tune. I think it would be pretty hard to get booked with a reputation of doing that type of shit though, hahahah. But you know, gotta push the boundaries do something different. ...

Re: BAR 9's older shit...

Two things, firstly, Hendrix is blues. Secondly, I don't think that would ever happen lol. Yeah dude... Just blues, definitely not considered rock...yeah, right - stop trying to intellectualize something that doesn't need it. PS: On a scale of Blind Willie Johnson to Aerosmith, Jimi is more rock th...
