ahhh thanks mate yea that kinda make sense ill have to give it a shot when i get in
so by playing one slot after anoter in edit events it will in turn play the envelopes over more time/bars.. sounds like a plan ...

open the piano roll..
add the length of note you want..
in the top left of the piano roll there is a button that looks like a slope
click this, now when you add another note above or below the original you will see it is a different colour with a white mark at the end
this will control the pitch ...
