Honestly the easiest way to understand this stuff is to learn an instrument...i was just like you when i first started producing, i didnt understand any of the theory and eventually i got so frustrated i just gave up. I started playing guitar and the theory was so much easier to learn, its one thing ...

like everyone else is saying its all about layering the right snares...i always slap some reverb on the snare to make it feel even bigger

In logic I can set Bars as - numbers. So i have -1 bars of silence before anything. Then i may adda sound effect /roll in for that -1 bar

hey man how do you set the pre roll?? i use logic also but never knew you could do that...that would be real nice because i always just start at bar 2 and ...
