Re: The Reason Q&A Thread
i think it will make a lot of people leave their DAWs and VSTs for Reason. the less i have to use Logic the better!brettheaslewood wrote:I hope this does motivate alot more people to leave they're reason4/5 cracks and move up to 6, people don't understand how much of a step up it really is.

Re: best iOS/android music productions apps
Not much about for the Android platform, anyone got any suggestions? My contract is about up, looking at the Galaxy Nexus for the big screen but that's not much use without some nice music making apps to twiddle! Had a quick mess with Supreme MPA but all these synths you iphone guys are going on ab...

Re: Sine wave below 100hz?
for a bass music forum i'm really surprised to read so much bad advice.
do any of you know the frequency of an 808 or 909 kick drum? both are around 50Hz.

Re: What is your DAW missing?
I use Logic and although the MIDI side of things is really good the audio workflow is probably the worse of all DAW's. they should just copy Pro Tools and have all the editing in the arrange window and have a smart tool instead of all that right clicking to change tools. I also use Reason and i thin...

welcome to the world of technology
i think lemur have done pretty well out of this. the iPad may have originally killed the Lemur but they adapted and now the iPad could be the best thing that ever happened for them.

i've got nanostudio, it's fun. so far i've only made drum loops, if iPhone 4S didn't have such a shit battery i'd be on it more! one thing i can never get to work is the decay on drum sounds. to get good decay, go to the mixer, and on the first TRG bar, select FX, button that says no fx to add effe...

Re: Production Investment
i had a Virus C for a year and didn't see what all the fuss is about from a sound point of view. it's easy to program with all those knobs but i never got the kind of warm tones i crave. it's not analogue sounding at all and there are better synths for dark twisted digital weirdness.

are you getting clicks on your attack, release or both? if it's attack use a slower attack time on your bass amp envelope. do you tune your kicks with your bass? i always do and have never had any problems with clicks and side chaining. what are you using for your kicks? maybe it's MIDI timing is sh...

if your doing a bit of mastering i would suggest Room Treatment better DA converter. some good ones to look at are the Apogee Duet 2, RME Babyface, Avid M Box Pro (not M Box Pro 2 but the new one) and Steinberg MR816 X. TC electronics and Echo also do good stuff but i don't have any experiance with ...
