Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
@Jake Dubber - “Way of the samurai” – I know it’s not your latest WIP, but it’s the first time I’ve heard it. Nasty bass man! Especially after only 6 months of work. You will do well my friend. I’m not sure if I like the heavy panning on the snare…some of the sounds seem too far away, maybe a bit to...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
@deniss1 – Thanks for the feedback. I’m diggin “little whore”. I feel like you could make a transition to really heavy beat down section, with a similar bass melody, but a rhythm that really emphasizes the snare hits, almost like it is sidechained to the snare. Lot of good ideas here. @Home Noise Re...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
@antman – Thanks for the feedback. The intro is meant more so for an opening song, or something lengthy I would use later to mix in a set if I were dj’ing. I really dug your track “Clown Killer”…very interesting vibe. I feel you could add a few more parts in the back ground, like percussion. Or mayb...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
@superginger – “optix alone” That bass is thick. Digging the vibe of the track. The transition to full speed then back to half time was nice. I think the kick needs to be turned up just a little, or layered with a slightly punchier kick when the bass kicks in. Good track. @mawsta – “the calming” – N...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010
Ahh yeah I think I can hear the sub now. Headphones worth a quid don't help bro :D Here's an update of a WIP from me. Posting here since the January thread seems to be dead... http://soundcloud.com/nnny/terrible-vibrations-edit3 Could really do with help on where to take this one, would be much app...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010
@ gen0, sniper DUBB, snif, nnny, – Thanks for the compliments, and yes, the drop took a few hours to hammer out. I’m still not entirely satisfied…I want it to “pop” right at the end, like something Dodge and Fuski might do, if you’re familiar. Also, thanks for all the good advice, definitely a boost...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010
@ Bad Boy Bastian “Scarlett Letter” – Chill track. Dig the break down @ 3min. The snare doesn’t seem to fit right in the mix…a little too loud. I like the left panned piano, but it would thicken the track up to have a mirror piano in the right when the verse breaks in. Great tune. @ dwel “Suffering”...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010
@Xephex – “this winters hearth” – Nice pluck string in the beginning. It seems a bit loud to me though. Try putting it about 5 dB below your kick, since the whole section would lend itself to softer voices in the high freq. PHAT BASSSS.! I like that it just seems to kinda flow randomly…Maybe add a n...

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for DECEMBER, 2010
@sprayyypaint – I like the Lebowski sample. I lol’d. But, Drums are very harsh! I like a punchy kick, but it feels empty, not much low end on the kick. The vibe part doesn’t really fit. Maybe put a low pass filter on it to bring it down. Still, interesting track. Keep working at it! @ninthy4-Chillst...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@Airlab Am – Thanks for the feedback. I agree the snare is flat…it’s been something I’ve wrestled with on this track for a while. I just don’t know where to blend in the bottom end of the snare, since there is so much going on in the midrange already. Argh…but anyway. As for your track, “As the ride...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@ MRP5 – Thanks for your feedback, man. Sorry for the delay… “Bay Hoes” – Wow. Nice 8bit Arp, phat bass, tight drums. It’s almost a little too busy in the mid to upper frequency, with that crash cymbal on the down beat, or whatever sound that is…maybe turn it down, tighten the mix up? Great mix man,...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@ Acolddayinhell – “Buckshot Riddim” : Awkward. And fucking awesome! The riddim is indeed sick, and the sounds are interesting. Make it louder? Yeah. Compression is your friend. Mas de compression! Still, nice track, not boring, great sounds. Keep it up. @Deranger “Exquisitely Empty” – I like the hi...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@Obsidia – “Destroy” I’m really diggin the sounds man. Spacey. I really like the space you have at the end of the 8bar phrase. Very effective. The only thing I would suggest is make the snare a little tighter, or snap a little more. Very phat. @Wobbafet – Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping it wou...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@Wobbafet – “Shelob” First off, kudos on the name, pretty clever and I lol’d. Second, nice track. Slow, heavy tune. I agree there could be a little more in the sub. Keep it up! @jfloyd – “Turn up the bass” – Sick. Very cool idea here, dark, tight drums and slow wobbles. Top notch! @daddy mchectic – ...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- OCTOBER 2010
So many tunes, so little time. Do they usually just rename the "Tracks for Feedback thread" for each month or do they start a fresh post? Just curious. Would have been cool to get first post  Anyway, got some more feedback for these great producers and I'm gonna drop a new one from my...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- SEPTEMBER 2010
I've been playing drums and studying music for the better part of ten years. I've been browsing the forums for a few months now and have decided to finally post some feedback. I'll post some of my own tracks eventually, but I'm enjoying listening for now. Everything I've heard so far is freakin phen...

Re: newcomers -> introduce yourself here
First up, props to all the producers on here! From what I've heard so far, there are a lot of talented people on this forum, with a lot of creative ideas. I've been playing drums, percussion, and studying music for the better part of 10 years. I'm impressed. Anyway, I've been listening to dubstep fo...
