(Can't spot the little toy infront of the monitor)
Looks like a Moog pedal but I could be wrong. If that was my setup I would have those Adam way further apart. Would never have monitors that close together unless I had to, such a narrow sweet spot!

Re: Parallel compression question
My kick peaks ~-8db and the send channel peaks round -15db or so. Still it feels like the kick isn't loud enough compared to the rest of the track.
Master channel peaks round -4,-3db and raising the kick send channel volume doesn't make it peak higher ( if i raise the volume really much then it ...

Re: Adam A7X or Adam A5X?
Don't get a sub unless your room is treated. It'll only make more problems when you come to mixing. Besides, your room isn't really large enough to handle the size (length) of any of the waves that a sub will be pushing out, so it would be a waste of time and money.

Don't think 'what and what not to' but rather "in what order should I put them in'.
For composing I have nothing on my left right. If i'm bouncing to play a track out (e.g. before it going to get properly mastered), I will do some makeshift mastering to it.

Re: Getting into some 2-step..
you don't really need to worry about that, swing quantize settings should keep your main beat and backbeat square. If every note was swung, then you'd just have the whole beat playing straight, but a bit late. All swing is is a short delay on every other 16th note (for the UKG syle stuff anyway, a ...

Re: Getting into some 2-step..
The swing is the hardest part to grasp in 2-step.
Its worth noting that you can't swing ALL of the drums, the main kicks and snares need to be bang on beat. Usually any high hats on the downbeat as well. But percussion, off beat ghost snares, and offbeat hi hats can be swung.

Re: Synkro
Synkro is ridiculously good, to put it into perspective, he's probably one of the best heavy sample based producers around at the moment, Vocal wise sampling the likes of Faith Evans, to Ne-Yo...

a large part of their appeal are down to the absolutely amazing American Beauty samples,
Everybody Knows doesn't sample American Beauty, lol, it samples Batman Begins. On the OST that particular score piece is titled 'Corynorhinus'.

mastering engineers and mixing engineers definitely dont use normalizing on a whole song so you shudnt either..
how are u supposed to add things like saturation, eq etc to sweeten up the mix when its hitting at 0db? even stereo imaging can increase the decibels when widening stuff.

Re: I need tips on mixing/mastering my track better!
normalizing increases the highest peak in the audio to 0db, and brings everything else up with it. Doesnt change the sound at all, just turns the gain up to 0.
Err, yes, exactly, whereby completely defeating the point of bouncing out at '-6dB'. You don't want to normalize a track before it is ...

wait vxt's are affordable? They're over a grand.
No they're just under a grand, you could get them for under 800 if you looked around though...
your right... i was damn sure you were wrong because most ns10's have yellowish cones by now and those are so clean.
I stand corrected.

Re: Loudness warriors giving tips (aka music industry engine
Manaj was tracked and mixed mostly in studio C at glenwood which has a pair of Yamaha HS80 M's and KRK VXT8's. That should answer all your monitoring questions... both are very affordable.
Sorry, but even once you buy these monitors, you'll still be missing out on the room design, acoustics, and ...

Get the RP8's with the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 preamp. All you really NEED, and they're quality.
Why do so many people on here have their heads stuck of KRK's bass ports? I don't know where the speakers end and these people begin lol.

Re: Share your delay techniques or secrets!
Use a delay on a send with low amount of f/b (under 30 %) to give more space off of vocals or sounds (just like a reverb but it sounds much cooler!)
Use compression after delay on aux sends, set the compression key input/ sidechain to whatever is sending to the delay, this way you can control how ...

Re: The art of how to get recognized in the music industry?
Persistence and networking mate. There's no magic answer. Its took me a good 2-3 years to get talking to people in the Garage scene (that is 2-3 years + the time it took me to get to a good standard of production), where I finally managed to release an EP on a digital label (not hugely well known ...

I don't wanna start the old dog rant 'that's not what dj'ing is' but I will anyway, because I simply can't believe you just used the words 'beat matching' and 'bpm counters' in the same sentence. How lazy are you? You might as well get a good software/ and controller with a decent 'sync' button so ...

Simple answer. Knowledge and imagination. Knowledge is power my friend. Grab that 'go to' compressor. Unless you know how to use it you won't get anywhere lol
But nah honestly, you can't go wrong with a rhodes sound and a flanger or phaser. Haha. Thats one go to sounds I like. Simple but works.
