Re: Ableton Live Training
When I started originally I guess I was making some odd form of hip-hop which progressed into sample based hip-hop. It eventually turned into a strange mix of electronic, trip-hop style stuff that progressed into a fusion of hip-hop and dubstep. I started making just straight dubstep for a while and ...

Ableton Live Training
Hello fellow producers.
I have been casually producing music for the past 10 years or so. I first started on an old Technics keyboard. It used floppy disks to store all the files. A rapper friend of mine gave me a copy of Fruity Loops version 4 and I started learning how to sample and use a DAW for ...

@Alexandercunningham: Beat me by one minute
. I like what you did fx wise to the vocals. I can't give much feedback on the mix other than it's a little to reverb heavy. The melodic work it very tight and well done. Interesting track man.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@1stfiest: holy fuck dude, this is sweet as hell. I mean I was instantly feeling this a lot. I love the fist intro synth and the fact that the second square sounding thing was clashing with the main melody a little just ads to the tension of the drop. I was only disappointed that it's not done ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@ Gaol : This is very interesting, it has a sort of trance feel. Obviously could use a much better mix down but it's not the boring brostep. I think you could add some more melodic elements to it other than just the strings and choir in the intro. Something like a floating synth just to fill up the ...

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@ bl0rg : I cant figure out if thats batman but it sounds like it. It's really really cool. I would like for your wobbles to be more present, they seem a little bit muddy. The intro is nice though. very well done over all

No, The sounds are Great!! just the fact that it starts to go, and then stops, then starts, stops, starts, stops. you should just have it continue without stopping.
@Specimen-Yarp
I do not like the intro synth. Your mix is waaaay to loud. almost clipping. and the synth is very edgy ...

@Malleus
I like the dropping FX sound you have there. I'm not a huge fan of the lead synth but the sub is nice. The vocal sample goes really well with the tune overall. I think the drums are ok but like you said the kick needs layering. I don't really like the shakers all that much, not the pattern ...

BenJonesLikeWhoa - Hedghogs and Fists
I've mixed this track about 6 times now and it still sound like i need to do something different to the mix. I am not happy with how the wobbles sit in the mix or the drums overall. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I don't have monitors and mixed this in headphones and in my car speakers ...

Re: First mix with APC40...Plenty of new tracks
I listened to your whole mix. I liked it very much. I am purchasing an APC40 and this is exactly the kind of mix I want to do. I have previously been using torq with an m-audio controller but found no need for jogwheels and ableton has so much versatility. I'm very interested to know how you set ...

Re: My first controller question ??!!
Well I went to guitar center and played around around with the Akai apc40 and I love it. A big selling point is that it comes with a version of ableton live already. Which I was planning on buying anyway. I don't really feel the need to use jogwheels at all but I'm a little skeptical on how to set ...

Re: My first controller question ??!!
I am leaning towards a Hercules RMX. I don't give two shits about scratching, just mixing and beatmatching (and cool FXs). Eventually I'm probably going to get an ableton controller and do my shows that way. But I can't afford ableton at the moment and if I just get a controller now I can do some ...

My first controller question ??!!
Hello all. I have a question. I'm learning to dj and have been doing gigs at house partys with my buddy's controller running torq. I do dubstep and hiphop/bliphop/glitchhop. I'm going to purchase a controller on this upcoming weekend. Seeing as I'm a relative begginer I wonder what would be a good ...

Re: Releasing vinyl ?? And digital download sites like beatp
oh and vinyl releases are incredibly neccissary, i dont mix vinyl and i think they are incredibly important within the scene.
OK, but why? I understand there are Dj's who prefer vinyl but is there that large of a market for it. If I'm signed to a label and have an EP release is it standard ...
