Re: Where to get good vocals? Also, use them in key?

Yo Eat Bass, Logic has a plethora of professionally recorded vocal loops that are labeled with their respective key. Stretch/pitch them in flex mode, chop them up, and play them using the EXS24. Burial sounds like he chops up single syllables and stretches/processes them to fit his song.

Re: new maschine, mikro or not?

Not essential, just workflow preference. I like to punch my drums in by hand and sample/chop vinyl up which it is very fast and intuitive at doing. It has the nicest pads I've ever used, can't believe I put up with my MPD as long as I did. I'd only recommend it if you want a mpc vibe and workflow in...

This video should help you, it shows you an easy way of splitting the frequencies on your bass and putting the lows in mono:

is Maschine worth it?
I got one because I manually punch my drums in unquantized and I sample and chop up vinyl. I love how I can get a beat going without looking at my computer screen. If you aren't in to drumming, sampling, or programming MPC style than I wouldn't recommend it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEzvjWI9lJM Spectrasoul - Fools Paradise Love the intro swirly pads and what vinyl crackle that is going on there. Vocal has an ethereal feel to it, can hear the drum proper doing the sidechaining suck in and out on the ambience. Goodd vibes all round really, and a re...

Been designing new sounds with Massive all week-- can't believed I passed it over because I assumed it was just for making nasty bass sounds. It's so deep, versatile, and fun. Best free software update ever!
