Ah, word! I was playing around with something similar, yes, but in the end I settled on a custom adaptive hard clipper.ftwgmorm wrote:My question was did you use such a formula in your code for odd distortion. Because it's what a lot of people use.

Re: TapeSound VST - get tape warmth in your productions!
Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. While I have found this plug in useful myself to add a tape "feel" to tracks, the point about it missing "tape emulation" and the ability to add the actual warmth and distortion to source audio is a good one. I'll try and incorporate that in to ...

TapeSound VST - get tape warmth in your productions!
Hey DSF... I just did another windows VST/exe instrument similar to "VinylSound" but with Tape effects. See the demo below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=mSdlyPLXpTY *9 pre-loaded tape crackle, hum and whoosh loops *+100% to -100% speed control *Master volume c...

Re: VinylSound vst - Atmospheres for chillstep, future garag
What advantage does this have over manipulating an audio clip? At present, the VST only offers stock sounds with crackle/pitch adjustment. If I were to do this using audio clips, it'd require less CPU and I'd be able to use my own samples. If you've got dope samples that are comparable or better an...

Re: VinylSound vst - Atmospheres for chillstep, future garag
Where did you get the vinyl noise loops from? Various sources. Mostly from freesound. They are all free to use, (even commercially) - a few require attribution however - license information for each sound is included with the VST in a text file with the download. My plan is to record a lot of vinyl...

Re: VinylSound vst - Atmospheres for chillstep, future garag
Can you load your own loops into the VST? What advantages does this give me over just loading my own recorded crackle/pop loops (edit) into my DAW? Not hating, just curious. Not right now, but I'm working on another version that will allow you to do that along with other features. The advantage is ...

Yeah. This is actually just a minimal synth I made for simpler sounds. If it's a bit simple for your tastes maybe at least check the preset pack. Part of the idea is for it to be tiny though. I'm working on bigger synths at the moment... Appreciate the encouragement bouncingfish definitely working o...
